It's not the ten bucks so much as it is about the radio itself : like the smoothness of action in the tuning dial when narrowing the station signal strength; also the clarity of sound out of the speaker that sounds larger than it probably is.; and the length and build quality of even the antenna. Hope this helps someone and I hope the second one i am buying will be exactly the same good deal.

This AM/FM radio is just the ticket. It has a dial tuner that is very sensitive. It takes 2 AA batteries which last forever in this. At night on AM I was picking up stations several states away. The FM works great. It turns up loud and has great sound. I turned it onto an oldies station at a house party and it played all day. I love this radio!

I have trouble catching some FM channels in my house. This radio is very strong and sounds pretty good for its size and price. Love it.

What a great little pocket rasio with a nelt clip! It didn't even need the antenna up and it receives so well. Also it will also work with AAA, they fit in there, but it may take a little spacer later on for that but you can't beat them. A perfect way to stay informed with the news and under ten bucks.
