When I first saw this portable am/fm radio, I was wanting a tool that would allow me to access local radio stations without using my mobile network or wifi. I know that might sound too prepper-ish for some, but 5 years ago, I would never have imagined that a winter storm would be severe enough to knock out power and water for over a week, and that hundreds (probably thousands) would be dead as a result, let alone in TEXAS! Well, fool me once, you know......
I cannot say enough how well-built, easy to use, and valuable this am/fm radio is!
Additionally, it's handy as an everyday item as alternative to the mobile device for music/news.

I needed a small radio for the gym to take my mind off the boring repetition of workout machines. This one gets great reception for enough rock n roll stations to satisfy. Plus, the controls are easy - while I don't need the clip, it has one. I don't like earbuds so I use headphones that plug into the phone.

Great radio-easy dial usage but the ear piece could have been made a bit more heavy-duty.
