This is a remarkably robust and great-sounding radio. Best in class for AAA battery radios, in my experience. I was impressed with the Kaito KA-200, but this is significantly better. Super-solid build quality and blasts out quality sound. Reception is surprisingly good on FM and above average on AM. Prunus hit a home run on this one.

This Pronus , AM FM radio is so small, runs on 2 AAA batteries. It was definitely loud enough and it worked just as advertised…

This radio is super small, which is exactly what I needed! I needed something small that I could fit into my emergency grab-and-go kit, and this radio fits perfectly in there. Like, I knew it was going to be small, but holy cow. I uploaded a picture of my old house key on the radio just to give you a good size comparison.

For its size, the sound quality is fine, and it can get surprisingly loud. You won't be listening to music on this enjoyably, but if you're looking to get weather and emergency broadcasts on it, it will do that really well. The dial is very finicky so it's hard to get a solid setting because even the slightest movement of the dial will change the tuning drastically. But, if you're slow and calm with it, you'll be just fine.

Highly recommend for any emergency kit, or if you just need a pocket sized radio with you for any reason.

I confess that I bought this radio primarily out of nostalgia. As a kid, I had a couple of transistor radios that looked like larger versions of this. These radios were my main source for music back then and I have fond memories. On a more practical note, I wanted a dependable small radio for power outages and potential emergencies, and this fits the bill.

Nowadays you just don't see a dial on a radio anymore and I kind of miss it for some reason. Back then, finding a clear radio station could be frustrating--move the dial .001 of a millimeter and you get a loud blast of static that hurts your ears until you find the station .002 mm the other way around. Fortunately, technology has improved since then as well as the broadcast signals in most places. I live in average sized Midwest city and easily found about a dozen clear signals using the dial on this radio. There is also a tuning light that helps identify the best reception. I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality.

This came with the ubiquitous suede drawstring bag which will help to protect the radio while carrying in a purse or backpack. It is quite lightweight and will stand upright on a flat surface. Battery life seems normal to good depending on use. People who are too young to remember these radios back in the day may be disappointed. This is not a stereo receiver so with headphones you will hear the same sound in both ears. But if you are not using headphones, you won't notice the difference.

This might be my favorite AMZ purchase in a long time! It's about 3x2 and super light. Got this for my short walks - and i like listening to baseball and football games that are only broadcasted on the AM radio stations. Sound quality is really clear. There are not many am/fm radios out there, but this one is perfect and super portable!

Having recently gone through an ordeal consisting of ten days with no power, we realized a battery operated radio would have been VERY helpful. This one certainly fits the bill.

Add to that, I was actually shocked at how much volume you could crank out of this tiny little thing. It's tiny! Easily can be carried around in your pocket, in a purse, glove compartment, or the emergency drawer with the candles & the batteries. Popped a couple of AAA's in it to test it out and the reception was excellent, especially as we are at least 50 miles from a major city. There's a headphone jack also, so if you get reception with the antenna down, or maybe up partially, it'd probably work well while jogging or working out. It would certainly fit in a back pocket or a shirt pocket.

It even comes with a little drawstring cloth bag for storing. So next time we have a power outage, we'll at least have news, so we can find out maybe when they expect it to come back on! Very happy with this little AM/FM radio.

This portable lightweight radio is small but mighty! Its fidelity is impressive coming from such a small unit. The station/tuning thumbwheel is sensitive and requires a light touch, but there is no sound bleed from nearby stations, even within very close bandwidths. So, when you tune into a station, the signal is solid and the sound is clear with no interference from other stations. A green signal light on the front of the radio indicates when you are tuned into a station.

The earphone jack is standard, and connection is stable; the sound using headphones is good also.

The length of this mini radio is about 3.5 , the width is 2 , thickness is approximately .5 and when the antenna is extended, the total length is 10.5 . The casing is molded plastic, which seems to be good quality. There is no clip on the radio for attaching it to anything. It is not waterproof.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX: mini radio, fabric drawstring storage bag, manual.

The radio requires two AAA batteries to operate, which are not included. There is no option for USB or other corded charging. The battery compartment has a hinged door, which is not removable. Battery installation and removal is easy. There is a battery ribbon and when it is time to change batteries, pull on the ribbon (which you put under the batteries when inserting them) and the batteries will pop out for easy replacement.

This mini-radio fits easily into pockets, purses, backpacks or waist packs, so it works great for camping and other outdoor activities. I also like that I can use it when the power goes out for an additional source of local news and emergency information if needed.

Overall, this is a good value for price and performance!

I really wasn't expecting much from this radio, but it has decent reception on AM (a rare thing on inexpensive radios), and nice sound on FM and stereo when I plug in headphones as well! The controls operate smoothly, and it feels very solidly built.

If you're like me you will appreciate the soft drawstring bag that is included, so you can protect it from all the other junk in your desk drawer or backpack.

I can't really address battery life, since I just got this today, but if as much thought was put into that as went into the rest of the design, I expect it to be good. I'll edit if this isn't so.

This radio is exactly what I wanted. Filling out my to-go emergency bag, I wanted a portable radio that would neither add additional weight nor take up unnecessary space. With just 2 aaa batteries needed (not included} it was just a matter of sliding the power switch to either am or fm mode. The volume and clarity is amazing, as can be seen in the video. Very pleased with this and would highly recommend. It is tiny - but mighty!

I am a long-time purchaser and collector of new and vintage radios - including amateur radio, shortwave, and AM/FM radios. I have many older Zenith AM radios (500) and collect others. This little Prunus, about the size of a small credit card, is a little powerhouse. It receives AM excellently and picks up stations that my larger radios do. The tuning light is also super helpful to know when you have a station tuned in perfectly. I am very impressed with this radio and especially how well the built in ferrite bar picks up AM. Also, for such a small radio the speaker produces ample sound and supports AM/FM sound without any issue. The volume level is loud, again considering how small this thing is and the built-in FM antenna has no trouble at all tuning in all the FM stations that my larger radios can. Overall I'm quite impressed with how well the Prunus DE333 functions - it does everything well and for its size and price I don't think it can be beat for what it is.

I got this radio to keep on hand for emergency use. It's the perfect size to slip in your pocket. It has a very slim profile, and is about the size of your palm. I specifically wanted one that takes batteries, and doesn't need electricity to charge. The sound is clear, and it has good volume. I also like that it has a plugin jack for headphones. It comes with a nice little pouch with enough room to hold the 2 AAA batteries, along with the radio. Never leave the batteries in the radio when not in use. With all of today's technology this is an item that few people think about anymore, but when the time comes, you'll wish you had one.

This is a great compact radio. This radio may be the size of a credit card but this thing plays. The AM and FM channels come in clear and the speaker output is great for this radio. I always like to keep a radio handy in case of power outages. There is even a headphone jack. Overall, I highly recommend this radio.

This is simply a great little radio. Tuning of stations (I am mostly listening to FM) is excellent. Though tiny, it is plenty loud and the sound quality, while not outstanding, is plenty good, especially given its size. Best of all the radio is tiny... easily fits in your pocket. Seems to be excellent quality. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a mini pocket radio.

This radio does what it says it does. If you need something that's as small as possible and yet is not a Walkman-type radio so has a speaker, this is it. Good for picking up your local channels which is fine for a radio so small and simple. It seems to have nice rounded edges so it doesn't look like a plain rectangular box.
