This is a pocket AM FM radio. It requires two AAA batteries to run. It comes with earplugs and a neck lanyard. This is perfect for exercising. This little radio does not have a speaker so you have no fears of disturbing anyone else in the vicinity. I got this so that I could listen to my music whenever I wanted unobtrusively. I was surprised how easy it was to operate, and how clear the stations came in. The sound is stereo and it is wonderful. In our area we used to have several AM stations that were interesting to listen to. I haven't been able to tune in in a few years and I was disappointed to discover that we're down to only two. This little pocket radio is very simplistic and yet perfect for what I need. (It seems you can't get just a simple AM/FM radio anymore, they are all too fancy.)

I got this for my 9 year old who really just wanted to listen to the radio while playing outside. She likes her mp3 players and audio streaming devices but just enjoys listening to new music on the radio.
This device was easy to setup and use, just charge it up, plug in the headphones, and it worked without any issues. It lasts more than 6 hours (she hasn't used it past that time) while being used outside. She said she dropped it a few times and it had some scratches but the functionality was still there and it had no problems doing as it should.
As a parent my only complaint is it does not have a volume limiter function. I was able to mitigate that by getting a set of childrens headphones for use with it as the included ear buds were just cheap ones that worked but were not child friendly.
Overall I am probably going to purchase another one of these to use myself!

For its nice size, the display and buttons are surprisingly large and easy to see and use. The included earbuds are pretty decent as well.
Reception will depend heavily on the stations in your particular area - their broadcast output power, distance, and geography. Assuming those factors are reasonable, this definitely has nice clarity and sound. I got some great, clear audio where I live.
This radio has a surprisingly generous number of preset options. Literally almost 200, so you can pre-program lots of favorites. The scanner feature works well to find new stations, too.
For me, it's a big plus that this can use conventional batteries. That means you don't have to worry about charging, and a fresh set of batteries will last quite some time. That is also good for emergencies.
For its features and price, this is a solid value. If you are looking for a good, reliable, compact radio, your ship has come in.

My ADHD child needs to hear music constantly, and the bluetooth/streaming option isn't always an option for him. I love that he can take this anywhere there is a signal and find some music... sometimes old fashioned devices aren't such a bad thing.

Love to listen to my favorite radio station during my daily walks; and I like that it doesn't lose the radio signal. The device is small, and light weight; perfect to carry on you.

The simplicity of this radio is what makes this excellent. It is powered by 2 AAA batteries so no need to charge or needing a charging cable. Its intuitive with a digital tuner. It only works using a wired headphone. Its so easy my elderly parents had no issues listening to the radio with this. Its very compact and its made with good quality.

I purchased the PRUNUS Pocket AM FM Radio Portable with Stereo Earphone, Battery Operated Radio. I think this is a cool little radio! It has a bit of weight to it, so I think it is well made. It does not have a speaker, so you have to use the included headphones, or supply your own. The included headphones are satisfactory and the buds fit my ears OK. The AM does not play stereo, and I think the AM antenna is built inside the radio. For FM, the antenna is using your headphone cord, so having the cord stretched out may give you better reception. The radio picked up all my local stations, and the volume was plenty loud enough to hear them. It has a scan function that adds the local stations to memory. It is easy to reprogram if you go into another area. If it picks up something you don’t want to hear, you just press the M+ button a moment and it erases that frequency from the memory. One feature I like is the lockout. Just hold the power button for a couple seconds and none of the buttons will function until you repeat the process. This way, you can carry the radio in your pocket and nothing will change. I will use this radio a lot when my cable company decides it needs to cancel ESPN on game day again!

Sometimes streaming music or iPod/iPhone playlists are just boring. Eveery once in awhile, local radio stations for news and NPR broadcasts are often more fulfilling and useful. For that purpose this small, pocket-size Prunus radio is a wonderful alternative. The sound is surprisingly clear and crisp. Station acquisition with the scan/search function is very accurate. The memory capabilities are a decent addition for such an inexpensive radio that can easily by tucked away in a pocket. I find this to be a great adjunct to my phone to give me alternatives to music alone. I'm not sure of the life expectancy of the earphones which are pretty flimsy. But replacements of higher quality, if and when needed, are easy enough to find.

Good quality AM/FM Radio. The only time i really listen to the radio is either at work and sometimes in the car but very rarely.. Am glad to have a portable for this. Uses 2 AAA batteries and NOT included!! I ONLY use the lithium ion type batteries as they DO NOT leak and they have a long storage time. Basic earphones that will get the job done. Do not expect some IMAX experience :-) Has a neck lanyard too. Very lightweight at 2.2 oz without the batteries. With Energizer Lithium batteries item weighs in at 2.7oz. Would have been nice if a belt holster was included or some type of belt clip but the neck lanyard would suffice. You can just store in your pocket as it is very compact. Has an orange hue backlit to the LCD. has automatic station search and a sleep timer too. You can store up to 99 FM stations and 99 AM stations. 198 stations total. I doubt i listen to more than 2. Good reception for such a small compact portable radio!!!

Loving my new PRUNUS pocket AM FM radio. The size of the radio is perfect. not big - pocket size, but not so dang SMALL you can easily lose where you set it down because of it's NANO size. So there is the most favorable thing about this device. Requires 2 AAA batteries to power. Control is easy, very simple to navigate and operation is a breeze. Volume control range from 0 all the way to the MAX at 30. There is a pair of wired ear bud headphones included. And the users manual say's 3.5mm earphones. I chose to use a different pair, and you can do the same if you wish. You can attach the provided lanyard, and I would recommend. Great reception, clear stereo sound. This little radio is awesome. I am def gonna take this everywhere from now on. Thumbs up!! Perfect holiday gift for anyone all ages. Super simple to use!
